WHO ARE WE?

The inventor and pioneer of the soft shell headgear market, the GameBreaker story goes back to the early 2000s. We found a gap in player safety on days when athletes were participating in either 7on7, flag football, or non-padded practices during their tackle football season. Enter, the original GameBreaker soft shell headgear. Developed and patented in 2001 after ten years of research and development. While we started primarily in football back in 2011, GameBreaker products are being used in multiple sports today. In 2019, we launched the GameBreaker-AURA, the world’s #1 rated protective soccer headband, Stealth Helmet Liners, and Under Shield Practice Pads to expand on our original commitment to player safety.

SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

Since 2011, Virginia Tech researchers have provided ratings that allow consumers to make informed decisions when purchasing helmets and headgear. The ratings are based on more than ten years of research on head impacts in sports and are independent of any influence from manufacturers. Although all helmets currently sold meet minimum safety requirements specified by standards organizations, two helmets that pass the same standard may offer different levels of impact protection. The ratings identify which helmets best reduce concussion risk, with five stars representing the best available.

Through a series of impact tests, helmets are evaluated using two fundamental principles:

Each test is weighted based on how frequently players experience a specific impact; and
Helmets that lower head acceleration reduce concussion risk

The GameBreaker-PRO headgear and GameBreaker-AURA soccer headband are both 5-Star rated by Virginia Tech and the GameBreaker-GB earned a 4-Star rating.
